When I started Turning, as well as working full time, i was a volunteer with a local Lowland Rescue team, where i was in charge of fundraising. as time went on I left the team for personal reasons but missed being able to help others. after some thought I decided I could use my new hobby to continue to help others,
Lily is the 7 year old Grandaughter of my best friend Dave.
Born 11 weeks premature, she has multiple disabilities including cerebral palsy,infantile spasms, and epilepsy.
Now dependent on a wheelchair. The Upsee allows Lily to Interact more with the world, by getting out of her chair and walking.
We raised around £2000
Pens For Veterans is a Facebook group, started by Woody Turner which Auctions Pens and and other items and then donates the proceeds to various veterans charities around the UK. Supported by turners from around the UK who donate items to be donated or sold.

After Being Inspired by Chris Fisher RPT (aka The Blind Woodturner) and having a grandmother and Sister with severe sight problems, I decided to Support Guide Dogs for the Blind by helping towards the costs of Monty becoming a fully fledged Guide Dog, where he will then be able to give a blind person a better life !
The Southampton Veterans Drop In Centre is the result of a Dream by Colin Gaylor. After Military Service, support, unlike your uniform, is not ‘a one size fits all’ which is why we need places like the drop in centres. A place where you can come and get support, advice and a hot meal.
